Oh yes, and the original thread was so well documented by the watchers that there must be hundreds of thousands of photoshots of the pages out there in cyberspace and in my sitting room too *smiles*

I'm very glad you are publicising this while eBay are still trying to claim they are increasing security.

We have all seen the massive increase in the hacking / hijacking of accounts as highlighted by Vladuz all over the eBay forums.

EBay may have prevented Vladuz from getting back into the pink accounts for the moment (he hasn't been seen in pink for some weeks now) but they certainly haven't provided more security or better security for their members.

It's a mess which needs sorted out from the most basic security right through the site.

Please keep up the good work of publicising these problems, you may more easily save some individuals' accounts with publicity than by reporting the hijacked accounts to eBay - sometimes the account owner will never know their account was hijacked / hacked as many of the accounts stolen have been dormant for years yet still contain sensitive information which could lead to a hacker stealing much more than just your eBay ac details.

This is one of the worst problems in Internet security and affects Paypal accounts as well. Once a hacker has found his / her way into your account they may easily access your bank and credit card details, they may even take out credit in your name.

The resulting mess could take you years to sort out, years of disruption in your private life, black marks on your credit history ... oh, yes, and you may also find yourself owing thousands to eBay for the expensive listings the hijacker has placed under your name. How so? Well, once the item has been removed because it is fraudulent there is no item number for you to reclaim against and so the bill stands.

The system suits eBay of course, they are profiting from these frauds, financial benefits which should be accounted for somewhere in their earnings.

Are these accounts available for scrutiny?

Oh dear, I could go on and on about the fraud.

Keep up the good work Giovanni - by the way, you might want to add 'eBay Inc' to your tags, the financials might pick up on the story then *wink*
