If you feel “unprotected” that can only be because you are not an “eBay-preferred” seller.
Of course eBay has “seller protection”. eBay will even indulge in criminal activity to protect its “preferred” sellers, that is, those that are paying lots of FVFs—even if a lot of those fees are generated by the sellers bidding on and buying a good deal of their own stuff …
Regrettably, the ugly reality for consumers dealing with the clunky, manipulative, unscrupulous eBay complex, and a great many of their equally unscrupulous merchants …

This has been one of the more hilarious ongoing fiascoes, clear up to the most recent farcical example exposed:

For example, here’s all it says about the dedicated Seller Protection team: “The Seller Protection Team deals with buyers who don’t play by the rules so you can concentrate on selling. When you need us, we’re here for you.” …
I’ve lost track of how many reversals and/or contradictions, pure fluff and nonsense we’ve seen in total now.
